Dr. Temkin's current research interests are in creation of virtual environments for real time systems, interfacing graphics and animation to haptic systems, and developing haptics medical applications, especially training simulations. She is also involved in design and development of an Internet based database system for distributed data manipulation, analysis and visualization.

In general, she is interested in the design and implementation of real-time systems. This includes abstract computational modeling, algorithm design and evaluation, system integration and testing (including randomization and optimization of system testing), and user interface and database design and implementation.
